Vitality’s proposes colours, information, readings, sensations and suggestions for those masters performing in the world of colour, never losing sight of simplicity, authenticity and beauty.

Q. How do I test for allergic reaction?

A. Perform a patch test at least 24 hours prior to application

With a cotton swab, apply to the test area (Inside the elbow) the mixture of colour and developer in

an area of about 1 cm x 1 cm, cover with a bandaid. Leave undisturbed for 24 hours before the

colour treatment. After 24 hours, if there is burning, itching or any other irritation in or around the

test area, do not use the product.

Q. How do I mix my colour: When using a professional hair colour, mix with peroxide/developer:

If lightening up to 2 shades, or keeping the same shade, or darker than your shade:

– Mix 75ml of 20 vol (6%) peroxide/developer per 50ml (half tube) of colour. Once this is mixed, add

one satchet of oil (enclosed in carton)

If lightening up to 3 shades:

– Mix 75ml of 30 vol (9%) peroxide/developer per 50ml (half tube) of colour. Once this is mixed, add

one satchet of oil (enclosed in carton)

If using ultra lightening colours (shades 101, 102, 1000 and 1008):

– Mix 150ml of 40 vol (12%) peroxide/developer per 50ml (half tube) of colour. Once this is mixed,

add one satchet of oil (enclosed in carton)

Q: What can I expect if my hair is completely grey?

A. You will achieve 100% coverage with base colours only (base colours are: 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)

Q: Do I apply Vitality’s hair colour to all of my hair or do i just apply it to grey?

A. Apply hair colour to the regrowth first, leave for 20mins and then comb through to the ends of your hair and leave for 10 mins.

If your hair has never been coloured then apply to the whole head of hair and leave for 30 minutes.

Q: Does it works on all hair colors?

A. Yes

Q: I chemically relax my hair. Can I still use hair colour?

A. Yes hair colour can be used on keratin/or chemically relaxed hair – provided the colour is applied

at least a week after the treatment.

Note: All keratin straightening products will lighten your hair

Q: How should I maintain my hair after using Vitality’s hair colour?

A: Use a colour treatment shampoo and conditioner and apply a hair mask once a week.

Q: Will hair colour discolor my skin, clothing and towels ?

A: Yes. It is best to wear a cape or towel over your clothes and apply a cream to the skin around your hairline.

Q. Can I save some of the product to mix at a later date?

A. Yes, but only if the remaining colour has not been mixed with a developer. Keep the tube sealed with its cap and you can use at a later date.

Q. What do I use to mix my colour?

A; Always use a plastic bowl and brush. Never use metal

Q. How do I choose my colour?

A. Choose your colour from the colour selection. Once you have determined your choice of colour,

determine your natural/base colour (which is 1-10 in the naturals)

e.g. if you have chosen 7/44 as your preferred colour and your natural colour is 5 – you are looking

to lighten your hair by 2 levels.

If you have any grey hair:

– use 75ml of 20 vol (6%) developer/peroxide mixed with ¼ tube of base shade 7 and ¼ tube of 7/44

If you don’t have any grey hair:

– use 75ml 20 vol(6%) developer/peroxide mixed with 7/44

I am planning to use a high lift lightening colour (Shade numbers: 101, 102, 1000 and 1008)

A. When using an ultra lightening colour for high lift lightening, it is recommended that you mix with

a 40 Vol (12%) developer/peroxide and use a ratio of 1 part colour to 3 parts developer.

Example: 150ml of 40VOL (12%) Developer/Peroxide to 50ml of Colour
